BIOGRAPHY
Adina Mocanu (born 1990, RO), a visual artist and performer, currently lives and works in Bucharest. She holds an MFA and a BFA from Bucharest University of Arts. Between 2015 and 2016, she was an artist in residence at The French Academy in Rome, Villa Medici, Italy, where she developed a performance project centered on the pairing of utopia and dystopia. In the first half of 2017, she was a resident and art teacher at the Collins Living Learning Centre, University of Indiana, USA. She spent the second half of 2017 in New Orleans, USA, working on an ongoing series of artwork.
Adina primarily engages with performance and video while also frequently incorporating installation, photography, and drawing into her practice. She continually sought methods to shift the perception of participants, spectators, and viewers, subtly altering their perspectives on reality.
